The Early College Program at Englewood STEM HS allows each student the opportunity to gain college credits while in high school through dual credit/dual enrollment. Students can start taking college level classes as early as the second semester of their Sophomore year once eligible. Students in the program range from pursuing an entire Associates Degree to students just looking to take a few college classes to earn as many college credits as possible before graduating high school tuition free. This opportunity is open to all ESHS students who meet the requirements of a 2.5 GPA, 90% Attendance Rate, and meet college level on one or both of the Math and English College Placement Exams. ESHS is in partnership with Kennedy-King College for the Associates Degree Pathway (Kennedy King College Website) .
ESHS & KKC Early College Program Eligibility
The qualifications for getting into the Early College Program at Englewood STEM HS are as follows:
2.5 GPA or Higher
90% Attendance Rate or Higher
Take & pass one or both of the Entrance Exams. There are two separate Early College entrance exams; ALEKS (Math), and RTW (English). Students can also become eligible during Junior year based on SAT scores.
OR
Have a SAT score of at least a 480 in English and 530 in Math
Students can start taking two dual credit classes second semester Sophomore year, depending on what test they passed. Then, the summer before Junior year is the first time students can take classes at KKC campus.
