Description:

This is an entry-level (beginning) course designed for students desirous on learning to perform the piano and related keyboard instruments. Notation, rhythm, pitch, time signature, meter will be stressed. Students are expected to perform scales and selections with both hands. Individual and group training will be incorporated into this class.

Description:

This is the next level of instruction in class and individual piano. Students taking this class should have some skills in music reading, scales and independent movement of both hands. Basic chord progressions, major and minor scales are taught. Students can perform solos on the school/community level on advanced-beginner to intermediate level music.

Available to: Grades 9, 10,11, 12 (Must have successfully completed ELECTRONIC MUSIC III and/or have the recommendation of the teacher)

Description:

TIn addition to the requirements for ADVANCED PIANO I; HONORS students are encouraged to actively audition for and participate in local recitals, city and state solo and ensemble contests/festivals and act as accompanists for soloists and choral groups. Private lessons are encouraged but not required. Additional performance requirements can be added based on teacher discretion.
