Mr. Dizon graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Choral Music Education. In his time at WMU, Mr. Dizon invested his time in studying and performing traditional choral music, vocal jazz ensemble music, solo jazz voice, and jazz piano.
At the 2020 Jazz Education Network conference in New Orleans, he performed as a member of WMU’s premiere vocal jazz ensemble, Gold Company. While a member of the group, the ensemble was selected as the winner of the 2021 Downbeat Student Awards: Asynchronous Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
Lots of his artistic and teaching influence comes from vocal ensemble music, jazz and jazz-adjacent musical genres, as well as ludomusicology, the study of video game music.
He is also a multi-instrumentalist, with voice and piano as his primary instruments. He also has experience teaching guitar and ukulele. Furthermore, he has experience playing a variety of other instruments, including, but not limited to: Trombone, Tuba, Saxophones, Clarinet, and more.
Mr. Dizon advocates for the innate value of lifelong learning as a human and musician.
