This Crisis Manual is intended solely for the use of Chicago Public Schools (CPS) personnel. The information and protocols contained within are designed to guide CPS staff in responding to and managing crisis situations.

The administration of suicide and homicide risk assessments is strictly limited to school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, and school nurses. Other CPS staff members are not authorized to perform these assessments.
