Hello! I am Jennifer McLean, the PK-12 School Counselor at Cross Plains ISD. I graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Students and then from Sul Ross State with my Masters in Educational Leadership. I am a certified 1-8 teacher, PK-12 counselor and PK-12 principal. I am currently in my 7th year a School Counselor.
I am so blessed to be able to spend my days building relationships and supporting the wonderful students and teachers at Cross Plains. I work directly with students through guidance lessons, individual and group counseling, responsive services, student check-ins, and individual counseling. I also spend a great deal of time working directly with teachers, whether that be in the form of brainstorming ways to reach students, implementing incentives for behavior or having a listening ear, or just bringing around the "Woot Woot Wagon" (I am VERY proud of this wagon & it's the cutest!) to show appreciation for all they do!
Other responsibilities: 504 Coordinator, LPAC Coordinator, Homeless Liaison, Special Education Coordinator, SHAC Committee Member, Threat Assessment Team Member, TCHATT Coordinator
I am extremely fortunate to work in a district that is striving to do better every day. The teachers and staff truly believe that it is our goal to "Grow Better Buffaloes." At Cross Plains, being a Buffalo means something, there is a sense of pride that goes with being a Buffalo.
