The Parr Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) at Central Piedmont is a place where faculty learning, collaboration, and innovation contribute to being champions of students, catalysts for opportunity, and exceptional providers of learning experiences that transform lives and strengthen our community. The Center advances best practices of impactful teaching at the college to inspire, guide, and support instructors in the key areas of pedagogy, course content and instructional delivery.

FAQ

Can I film students in my videos?

You can, but you must fill out a release form with the student for student records located under Student Records III. Regulations. View the 4.02 Student Records (Transcripts) Policy on the Central Piedmont website or click here for more information.

Who do I call if I am locked out of the studio?

Visit the Parr Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence located in Overcash 241, or contact us at 704.330.6059 and ctle@cpcc.edu.

Who do I contact if I need tech support?

The Parr Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence must report any technical issues to ITS. If you experience any technical issues or malfunctioning equipment, contact the Center at 704.330.6059 or ctle@cpcc.edu.

What if I need accommodations using a space or equipment?

If you need accommodations, please contact Mattie Thomas in Human Resources in advance of the event at mattie.thomas@cpcc.edu or extension 6812.

What if equipment is malfunctioning or damaged?

Equipment issues must be reported by CTLE directly to ITS. If you experience any technical issues or malfunctioning equipment, contact the Center at 704.330.6059 or ctle@cpcc.edu.

If equipment in a Center Pack is lost or damaged, per College Policy 2.16 employees taking equipment off-campus are personally responsible for the loss, damage, or destruction of the equipment.

What if I cannot make my scheduled appointment?

Equipment check-outs and studio reservations can be canceled 24 hours in advance by contacting CTLE at ctle@cpcc.edu. Reservations will be canceled automatically 15 minutes after the reservation time.

Can I bring a PowerPoint to record in the One Button Studio?

Yes, you can bring any slides or preview material as long as you upload it directly to your Google Drive which can be accessed on the OBS computer.

Can I tour the studio space before I make a reservation?

You can! Contact CTLE at extension 6059 or at ctle@cpcc.edu to schedule a time. Please specify which service you would like to tour in advance.
