Even if you are happy with the footage as is and do not want to edit the footage or add extra features, you will need to make sure your content is accessible before you post it in your learning management system's (LMS) course shell.

The process the Parr Center recommends is uploading to and editing inside of Panopto.
If you don't use Panopto, you will notice that most editing software includes a timeline, an audio track, and a slider to move around as you cut and rearrange clips of your video. To learn more about Panopto, participate in our self-paced Panopto Experience training.
In order to share your video on most platforms, you will need to download it as a MP4. When you output as an MP4 you can also change the orientation or resolution of your video to best fit the platform you will upload it to.
Most of the time you will output your video at 1080p resolution at 30 fps. This is the high-quality standard for any online video.
To add automatic speech recognition (ASR) to your video, you can generate them in Panopto. Select the links below to see how to add automatic or manual captions to your video.
Sharing the video will generate a URL link that you can post to a different website then where it is hosted. By selecting the link, the viewer will open a new page with your video on it. In most cases, this will be your Panopto page. If you are sharing your video, make sure that the share settings are set to public or "anyone at your organization." On the other hand, if you embed a video into your site, you will generate a snippet of HTML code that allows viewers to access your video from your site.
Brightspace
To link a video in Brightspace, select Create a File on the course page you wish to host the video. Then select the Quicklink (the link icon) and copy and paste the URL into the URL field. The Title field is the underlined text that will prompt your viewer to click the link. When you are done adjusting the Title and Target (which window your link will open in) select Insert.
To embed a video in Brightspace, also Create a File but this time select Insert Stuff (the play button icon) and select Enter Embed Code at the bottom of the list. Copy and paste the HTML code into the text field. When you select Next, you will see a preview of your video. When you are done select Insert.
