The One Button Studio (OBS) is a simplified recording studio that can be used with no prior video production experience. The OBS is equipped with special hardware and Panopto software to allow instructors to record with the push of a button.

Hours: 8 am - 3 pm
Adjunct faculty, full-time faculty, and staff of Central Piedmont can all use this One Button Studio. Sessions are an hour long with a daily maximum of two hours per user.
The One Button Studio (OBS) can be reserved Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00am-3:00pm by appointment. A CTLE staff member and/or Student Studio Assistant (SSA) will be available to assist during recording sessions.
The OBS is equipped with motion sensors and pre-set lights and a camera. All you need to do is enter the studio and press the button on the touchscreen. The studio lights will automatically turn on and you will be able to customize the camera depending on your position and if you would like to stream an additional screen like a PowerPoint.
You will be unable connect an external device, like a phone or laptop, to the OBS but can access Google Drive for your files via the internal studio computer or PC.
We recommend silencing your devices and turning on the room light while recording to capture a professional setting.
You can refer to posted signage in the studio for a step-by-step process.
If you would like to record with a PowerPoint or other presentation file, you must upload it to your Google Drive to access it from the internal studio computer. You will use the PC option in the recording menu and sign into Google Drive with the keyboard in order to stream yourself and a screen capture.
We highly recommend preparing a script for your session. The OBS includes a iPad teleprompter which will display text and scroll automatically as you record. You must upload the script to Google Drive to access it through the teleprompter.
Note: Hanging or taping material to the studio walls is prohibited.

You will select a time to checkout and return the equipment on the reservation form. Your reservation will be canceled if you fail to arrive within 15 minutes of reservation time.

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Alternative days and times can be requested at ctle@cpcc.edu.
