School social workers provide the vital link between the home, school, and community to provide support services that impact students' academic achievement.
Advocate: provide support to remove barriers to learning, support students families and schools, operate with confidentiality and empathy, serve as members of multidisciplinary team.
Educate: provide school based interventions through attendance consultation, staff and faculty consultation, and education navigation
Empower: collaborate with counselors to support the school community, build relationships with families, target at risk populations, help student reach their potential
Support: students and families, school attendance, academic achievement, provide intensive and individualized interventions, provide multi-tiered system of support
Encourage: attendance through home visits, parent engagement
