A lifelong learner with a passion for middle grades education, Mrs. Doonan has fourteen years of experience in teaching English Language Arts, and this is her fifth year as a media specialist. She appreciates the middle grades potential for academic growth, the unique challenges of the environment, and the hopeful dreams of the future. She has a passion for reading and helping students find their next favorite book. In addition to her position as the media specialist at BMS, Mrs. Doonan currently serves on the Gifted Committee, the SIT Committee, sponsors the Learning Commons Helpers, and the #BulldogsRead Book Club. She received her BA from Florida State University in English Literature and her MA from Valdosta State University in English Literature. Mrs. Doonan completed her certification in School Library Media from the University of West Georgia in 2017, and additionally, she has been a Coweta County School System STEM certified educator since 2017. When not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping and hiking at Georgia state parks, and reading at the beach, by the pool, or on her back porch!
Mrs. Doonan has been married to her husband, Trey, for 25 years, and they have two children. Riley, a 2021 graduate of Northgate High School, is a first year law student at Emory University, and Mason, a 2023 graduate of Northgate High School, is a junior at UGA. Go Dawgs!
