Mrs. Thomas resides in Piqua, Ohio. She graduated from Piqua High School in 1994, and has her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Wright State University and her Masters Degree in Literacy Education from the University of Dayton. In September of 1999, she arrived at Covington Elementary where she was the Third Grade Title Reading Teacher for two years. Mrs. Thomas then began teaching 1st grade in 2001, and has been there ever since because she loves it so.

Mrs. Thomas loves to read, write, swim, play softball, and play her saxophone. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Her dog, Rylee, also gets a lot of her attention. He is such a good dog and her family loves him to pieces!

On April 27, 2006 she welcomed her first born son, Drew Curtis Gessner, to the world. He is in 7th grade this year! Then on March 14, 2008 she welcomed her second son, Brock Douglas Gessner, to the world as well. Brock is in 5th grade.

Mrs. Thomas has had a wonderful summer with both of her boys. They went swimming as much as possible, and both boys were on the swim team this year! Her family took two vacations. They visited Nashville, Tennessee and went on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. They also went to Florida for a week. It was very relaxing. Mrs. Thomas is very patriotic and loves the Olympics.

Mrs. Thomas is looking forward to a FABULOUS year in 1st Grade.
