Cove School Community Art

HOPE Mural - October 2020

“Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future.”

– Robert H. Schuller

Our community art project was inspired by the book "Sometimes People March" by Tessa Allen. The book was read in class followed by a brief class discussion exploring the themes of community, listening, and historical examples of peaceful marching to encourage change for the future.

You can enjoy the book narration read by Mrs. Vallejo by watching the video below:

After the book reading & discussion, community members were provided an introduction to community murals & invited to be a part of our Cove Community Mural of HOPE. Each student was provided a 5"x8" blank card to illustrate in words, colors and symbols something they are hopeful to see in the future.

“Art is the highest form of hope.”
