The Graduation Portfolio is a collection of work that documents student growth over time and demonstrates deep content knowledge in one or more subject areas and applied learning skills. The portfolio includes a range of validated applied learning tasks performed throughout a student's high school experience. A graduation portfolio can include validated Student self-initiated tasks. Students will be required to save a defined number of tasks each year within an electronic portfolio system. The portfolio also includes reflections and a final student presentation.

No more than five over the course of four years
Please be advised that Student Initiated Tasks are not a substitute for ALT's. They can be used to meet Badge Requirements or to include in your presentation.
As part of the learning process, reflections are embedded into the validated applied-learning tasks, completed in the classroom, and evaluated as part of the assignment by the classroom teacher. Validated applied-learning tasks will be offered once per course, reflections will occur minimally once a course in each class. All assessments included in the students portfolio will be required to have a reflection. The purpose of the reflection is to provide a history of the student’s growth over time and should address three areas:
What component/s of the Vision of the Graduate is the task aligned to?
How has completing the task has helped the student to achieve or make growth towards one or more components of the Vision of the Graduate?
What did the student do well and what can the student do next time to improve?
Vision of the Graduate Reflections
All CHS students will complete an annual reflection in advisory that identifies where the student is as a learner. The CHS Vision of a Graduate rubrics will be the self-assessment tool; however, advisors will check these for completion. Reflections will be done annually and will a part of the ILP process. Students will submit their reflection in Richer Picture. Students may complete the reflections in any format they wish. These could include written or video recordings.
Think of the Vision of the Graduate standards of reflection, critical thinking, global citizen, responsibility, and effective communication. How are you different today in any of these areas than you were in September? How have you grown?
Write a reflection of a minimum of 7-10 sentences addressing the prompt. Include 1-2 examples of ALTs you completed in classes this year that show your learning. Feel free also to add any participation in activities outside of school that have helped you grow as a person.
This reflection is required yearly.

Students who have not completed all of the required validated applied-learning assessments will not be exempt from any exams.
Students must be finished with ALT and ILP requirements prior to Senior Defense scoring day.
