International students across the country are facing immense challenges in our current political climate—and Cleveland is no exception. At UPCaM, we are walking alongside students who are at real risk of homelessness this summer.
Many have been advised not to leave the U.S. for fear they won’t be allowed back in. Now they are scrambling to find summer employment and cover basic necessities like food and transportation. While the university is doing what it can, spending freezes and limited staffing mean they've turned to partners like us for help.
Please take a moment to read this Call to Action letter. The full details are also available on our website. A united response is essential to meet this urgent need.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate to UPCaM. UPCaM helps provide support with housing, food, and community support for students in need. Choose to support the International Student Fund or the General Fund (preferred, so we can address the largest scope of need).

Thank you for standing with these students—and with us—as we embody radical hospitality in these challenging times.
Our Covenant family has been expanded by families from the Congo who have joined us in the past few years. Some have become Covenant members. Their worship service (in Swahili) takes place each Sunday at 11:30 am. We are now blessed with children filling Sunday School classrooms and the Creche, but more volunteers are needed to ensure Christian Education remains strong during the summer.
Could you give an hour or so of your time on a Sunday in May, June, July or August between 11:30 and 12:30? Your reward will be smiles and hugs from our precious children. Please contact Ann Williams if you have time to serve.
Saturday Morning Tutoring Program will hold 4 sessions in June (7, 14, 21, and 28). We are partnering with Coach Sam's Scholars for a different program. Students will work in groups focusing on either English or math. We are looking for volunteers to assist (not lead) with English Literacy (vocabulary review, discussing short stories to ensure comprehension, and writing). We need 3 or 4 people in this capacity each Saturday. We also need people to help with administrative tasks, checking in students, and distributing snacks. Volunteers are asked to be here 9:30 to 2:15 on a Saturday. You may sign up for 1 Saturday or several. If you have questions please speak with Mary Anne Bromelmeier, John Marsh, or Andrew Edwards.
Sign-up sheet available in the reception room/office.
Thank you for helping us to serve the community. Shop Tuesdays, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Cache accepts credit cards and contactless payment for purchases.
Each week, the Deacons create beautiful flower arrangements from our worship flowers to share with Covenant members who are recovering, celebrating, or grieving. To help with this ministry, we repurpose clean plastic juice jars as the base for the arrangements. If you buy juice in a plastic jar, please consider donating it by leaving the jar at the flower bench.
