This is because it is near Athens but it is also half an hour drive away from a large Hospital in the city of Aigio. In addition, it is one hour drive from Patras, Greece's third largest city, with the largest and most sophisticated hospital and related medical services in Western Greece.
Akrata and neighbouring Aigeira has restaurants which are open year-round. It is accessible from the International Airport of Athens via train and bus. From its central location, it is practical to drive to many sightseeing spots in the Peloponnese, the Ionian islands and in Delphi. It is ideal for German-speakers given the satellite TV receiver with almost all German speaking channels. Apart from the master bedroom for a couple, there are three other bedrooms to accommodate family visitors. In addition, the flat can sleep 2 more guests on 2 single bed/sofas in the living room. In winter, one can combine skiing during the day at Kalavrita Ski Center with a dip in the sea right in front of the apartment. Access via lift and stairs. The balcony extends along 2 sides of the apartment thus offering unlimited views of the sea and mountains in the distance. The apartment consists of 3 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a large combined living/dining/kitchen area with 2 additional single beds.

The kitchen includes a washing machine, a full cooking stove, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, etc. The kitchen is well equipped with cutlery, crockery, cooking equipment and related utensils. There are also two televisions with digital reception, one DVD player, Internet (WiFi) and a hair dryer. Satellite reception of at least the Hotbird satellite. Air-conditioning in all rooms. Heating is through the air conditioning units. In addition, there are two oil-filled electricity heating radiators on casters, in case someone prefers them. A large solar hot water boiler (200 liters) enables significant savings in electricity costs.

At 500 meters away (7 minutes walk) starts a kilometres long array of shops, bakeries, supermarkets, bus and train stations, and so on.
For shopping, there is “Galaxias” 300 meters away (4 minutes walk), which is a combination of large supermarket and general store.
