4th year Spanish is conducted completely in Spanish. Students will use Spanish to communicate with the instructor and with classmates. Students will continue to acquire Spanish in all of the 4 modes of communication: listening, speaking, reading and writing on a variety of topics including technology, science, pop culture, media, literature, art, politics, history and civilization. Students will communicate accurately and effectively to perform a variety of functions: inquire, describe, compare, debate, recount, etc. Students will increase their knowledge and understanding of the practices, perspectives, and products of Spanish and Latin American cultures. The assumption is made that the student is preparing for the Advanced Placement Spanish Language course, and many activities will reflect this assumption.
