OBJECTIVE: Students will use movement as a sculptural component
Alexander Calder Inspired Sculpture - Due 6/8
Watch this short video about Alexander Calder.
Using materials you find at your house, create a moving sculpture. (For materials, cardboard boxes, toilet paper rolls, junk mail, yarn or fishing line or anything else you have will work. You shouldn’t buy anything for this assignment, just use what you have.)
To turn this assignment in, take either a short video of your sculpture or take pictures and describe the movement.
Let me know if you need anything or have any questions!

OBJECTIVE: Students will research a different types sculpture.
Let’s imagine that you have been hired to create a land art sculpture on CV’s campus. Imagine that you have an unlimited budget and time to create this art.
Where would you build your sculpture?
What would it be made of?
What color scheme would you use?
What is the scale of your piece?
Would people be able to interact with it or would they be kept at distance?
Sketch your proposed CV Land Art Piece. (If you CAN, It would be cool to include a picture of the space where you would put your sculpture. It would be extra cool if you could draw your sculpture on a picture. If you can’t make that happen, just a sketch on white paper is great.)

OBJECTIVE: Students will research a different types sculpture.
What is land art? (Use the internet to research this topic.)
Find 3 examples of land art and who the artist is that made them. Try to find art that you like, and not the first 3 images that show up in google….
Tell me why you picked each sculpture.
What material was used?
What is the scale (size) of each piece.
