You will be creating a work of art focused on value…whatever that means for you! You can do drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, etc. You can do a still life, portrait, landscape, etc.
You will need to find an image to work from that is complicated. It needs to have lots of values so that you can either simplify them into a few values or represent a bunch of them (a wide range of values). The idea is that you are creating a sense of chiaroscuro! We want to feel the light!!
Large scale: Make it big! At least 18 x 24 in.

Materials, size, concept is all your choice!

Choose a time period and try to mimic the painting style! Check out artwork from this time period for inspiration. Provide evidence of planning, sketching, reference photos.
