We invite and have been actively seeking out local agencies and community groups who are interested in partnering with us to help get this campaign out. We are especially trying to reach people who use opioids but are also looking to educate the general community. Those interested in joining us, are welcome to use any of the campaign materials below. If you would like any staff support or have questions, reach out to Aster (contact info below).
This campaign ties really closely to the previous campaign that was focused on MOUD awareness. You can always use resources from that campaign--such as the information on what MOUD is or how it works--to supplement this campaign.
This campaign focuses on people's own stories of going through treatment, especially talking about common challenges and how folks can manage them. It's unique in that it also has several videos of people who are in recovery sharing their experiences to help people feel less alone and navigate their recovery journeys. There are many barriers to staying on medication treatment as long as needed. Many people don't know what resources are available to overcome common barriers, and end up not staying in treatment as long as they need. This campaign is designed to both normalize using medication treatment as long as necessary and help people better cope with challenges to staying in treatment.
We have
social media posts (with image descriptions, thanks to ATI!)
videos of people in recovery sharing their experiences (that you can share or embed)
flyers to print
waiting room TV screen display ads
and more!
All content can be downloaded and shared on your social media accounts. Click the button below to view our suggested posting schedule.
The schedule has links to the images for each post (each post has 4 images) and sample text for each post. Please adapt the text as appropriate for your agency (but please include the link!).
Here's a preview of what that schedule sheet looks like. Like last campaign, some weeks have a optional secondary posts (this time, that includes things like overdose awareness day, the drug disposal event, or recovery month).
For this campaign, each post has 4 images ("carousel style"): a title card, a quote, a photo, and an then and end card with the NIH and agency logos:
Because each post has 4 images, the link for each post (in the schedule doc) takes you to a folder where you'll find images images 1, 2, and 3 as well as multiple versions of image 4 (one for each partner agency).
The example to the right/below is for Scotty (week 1). You can see images 1, 2, and 3 ("_Scotty1.jpg...) and then below that each of the agencies has an image file for the 4th image. Everyone will post the same images 1-3 each week, but then use your own specific image 4.
You might need to re-sort the files in the folder to make it easier to find (the underscores in front of the person's name are there so that they get alphabetized on top). In list view (screenshot to the right), you can click the little arrow in the column header next to "Name" to sort the files. In grid view (screenshot below), the arrow is on the far right.
