Curriculum

Cornell uses the College Preparatory Math (CPM) curriculum.  This is a student-centered and problem based approach that uses collaboration to learn.

About me

Hello!  I am Mrs. Oemig the math teacher at the Cornell Middle and High School.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Chemistry from UW-LaCrosse.  I started my 3 year career as a chemist for a lab in Minnesota, while getting my radiation therapy degree.  I have been a radiation therapist for the last 17 years, using my math and physics skills to treat cancer patients.  I've taught many students throughout my career due to working in teaching hospitals, but this will be my first year in a classroom.  I love math and I'm so excited to see what this year brings!

My husband and I were born and raised in Cornell.  We are so happy that we are able to raise our 3 kids and 2 chocolate labs (Rip and Coco) here.  We also own The Main Scoop so you may have seen me around there, or on any ball field or court I can find.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me anytime!
