I grew up in the Twin Cities in Minnesota - an upbringing which emphasised the importance of neighbors, community, and the necessity of potlucks.
My love for all things bugs began around the age of sixteen, and has been a driving force of my life ever since. My other intrests include reading (lots), snail-mail, naked mole rats, and experimental baking.
I am writing this from my dorm room in Ithaca, New York, almost two thousand miles away from the place I grew up. Quite a ways! I'm still passionate about community, and am working to maintain my home community, and the one I'm building here.
I am absolutely loving college, and at some times it's also quite hard. I feel that at Cornell, there's this ingrained belief that you're not supposed to 'struggle' in any area, especially when it comes to schoolwork. I'm hoping to do my part in dismantling that by talking honestly about all aspects of my college life. You'll likely see some of that in my blog page.
