During the summer of 2019, I was given an amazing opportunity to intern with Samantha Fuhrmann, Sports Dietitian for NDSU Athletics. I prepared nutritional snacks and shakes, stocked shelves, and provided food at the Fueling Station for collegiate-level athletes. I was also tasked with creating individualized meal plans for athletes and counseling athletes who needed to maintain weight, increase muscle mass, or increase caloric intake. Another valuable part of this experience was creating weekly Instagram posts that dealt with hot topics, nutritional information, and quick and easy meals, all centered around improving athletic nutrition and performance.
