Starting my senior year of 2020, I was selected to take part in a Registered Dietitian mentorship program. I was paired up with Kim Feeney (MS, RD, CSSD, LD, CSCS), who works for the US Air Force, preparing those going into the special forces. Her focus is on the accelerated nutritional and metabolic demands of those entering extreme environments. Under Kim's guidance, I started a project after a thorough literature review that resulted in practice guidelines/handouts on the impact that nutrition plays in the cognitive status of college-aged students. During this project, I have developed skills related to reading and analyzing research, compiling and organizing data, and producing solid, best practice guidelines.
