My biggest support system through all of life's challenges, new beginnings, accomplishments, and failures has been my family. My parents have graciously given up so much for me to chase my dreams and I will never be able to repay the sacrifices they have made for me. I am constantly reminded of how important my family is in my life and I truly wouldn't be who I am without them.
As a three sport athlete in high school and a collegiate hockey player, a big portion of my life has been involved in athletics. Athletics has values I didn't necessarily see when I was playing but as I have reflected on my time as an athlete I am blessed to have gained important skills that will benefit me in my future endeavors.
Since I was young, our family tradition on my mom's side has been tea parties. My grandma loved to get together, dress up and visit as we enjoyed our tea. Now, my grandmas has passed on, but we continue to keep the tradition alive in her memory. Sometimes, that means we have incorporated our tea party dresses into different occasions to spice up the fun. For example, this past year my mom, aunt, and cousins did a polar plunge in our tea party dresses to support our local special olympics team.
