Use the reference to determine retention times for each phthalate. The six phthalates should elute in the order: DMP < DEP < BBP < DBP < DEHP < DNOP.

Calculate the concentration of phthalate in each standard solution.

Measure peak areas for all phthalates and the IS in each chromatogram (standards, blank, and sample).

Calculate peak area ratios (phthalate/IS) for all phthalates in each chromatogram.

Use the blank and standard data to make a calibration plot for each phthalate.

Use the calibration plots to determine the concentration of each phthalate in the unknown sample.
