USING THE ELECTRONIC PIPETTES

You'll find two electronic pipettes in the analytical lab (see figure below). Notice there are two sizes: 10-100 μL and 100-1000 μL.  Choose the size you want, lift it from the pedestal, and unplug it from the charger. Open the corresponding box of tips and press a new tip onto the end of the pipet.

The image above shows the function of each of the buttons. The Function should be set to PIPETTE. If it's not, press MENU (Left Selection Key), scroll the function list, select PIPETTE, and press OK (Right Selection Key). 

Select the desired volume by pressing the Scroll Key up or down, then follow these steps:

1. Dip the tip under the surface of the liquid in the reservoir and press the trigger. The liquid is drawn into the tip.

2. Wait until the liquid is not moving in the tip and withdraw the tip from the liquid touching it against the edge of the reservoir to remove excess liquid.

3. To deliver the liquid press the trigger and hold it down. The blow-out is also included to empty the tip.

4. Release the trigger to return to the ready position.

5. When finished with a tip, release it by pressing the Tip Ejector Lever.
