Sponsors

The 2019 Fall ASEE MAS Conference represents a continuation of The Cooper Union's long history of events that have changed our world. Our sponsors are key contributors to realizing this vision.

Each sponsorship level is named after an indelible moment in The Cooper Union's history: from building a fairer society to making skyscrapers possible, from connecting nations across vast oceans to improving student learning through innovative pedagogy.

Please consider sponsoring our Conference as you learn more of our nation's history through the lens of The Cooper Union experience below.

Contact the organizing committee here for details on how to donate. Every sponsor will be recognized during the conference and on this website, on printed materials and signs, and an exhibit table.

Premier Sponsors

As a self-taught innovator, Peter Cooper wrote that his hope was,

'...[to] build an institution and throw its doors open at night so that the boys and girls of this city, who had no better opportunity than I had to enjoy means of information, would be enabled to improve and better their condition. '

Learn more about the academic, social, and historical contributions our community has made since the institution's founding in 1859 here.

Our Premier Sponsors are involved in Conference organization, facilities, staffing, keynote speaker engagement fees, and providing for the free and open online repository of publications and posters.

Experiential Sponsors

In line with our institution's core value of life-long learning, academic excellence, and hands-on learning, four workshops will be offered to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. One is scheduled for Friday, and three on Saturday.

Experiential Sponsors will support these workshops by covering their associated operating costs.

Cable Sponsors

Peter Cooper was a visionary who wanted to connect every corner of the world. He was instrumental in the laying the of Transatlantic Cable which connected the Western and Eastern Hemispheres. Peter Cooper envisioned a world in which knowledge covered the surface of the Earth, '...as free as air and water.'

Cable Sponsors will connect all the conference attendees to each other (and to the rest of the world) by supplying free wifi access for the duration of the Conference.

Elevator Sponsors

The Foundation Building was the first building of its kind to have a passenger elevator shaft. This shaft was round and is still in operation today. All attendees will have an opportunity to view this elevator (and ride in, if time permits) during the social event on Saturday, November 2nd. The event will include a private viewing of an art exhibit that represents a marriage of science, art, technology, and engineering within a humanistic narrative.

The Elevator Sponsors will provide refreshments for registered attendees during this social+networking event which will be held right next to this historic elevator.

Beam Sponsors

Peter Cooper owned a railroad rail manufacturing company, among many other entrepreneurial ventures. If one railroad track is inverted and attached to another, with the bases at the extremes, the resulting cross-section is the familiar I-beam. This beam was first used in the Foundation Building and which and began the skyscraper revolution in New York City.

Beam Sponsors support pedagogical innovation and will provide the awards for the student poster competition.

Foundation Sponsors

As any experienced conference-goer knows, it's not just about the papers being presented. A lot of important professional and personal networking, along with the sharing of experiences and practices, happen during the breaks.

Our Foundation Building houses The Great Hall which, since it was opened in 1859, has been the focal point of civic discourse, the sharing of ideas, and critical debate.

Our Foundation Sponsors will provide refreshments and snacks during the Saturday Break so that we can all reflect on what we learned during the morning session, strengthen connections with our colleagues (new and old), and enhance our peer network.
