As a grassroots organisation, our mission is to protect and restore the Cooloola Coast’s species, habitats and ecosystems for their own sake and to enrich the lives of current and future generations.
Our stewardship includes:
Taking on-ground ACTION in nature;
EDUCATING for better practices;
ADVOCATING to influence policy development, regulation, and decision-making;
RESEARCH that enlarges understanding and appreciation of Cooloola’s nature.
We are stewards of the country we live on, treating it with respect in the knowledge that when we care for nature, it nurtures us. Everything we do is dedicated to securing a sustainable future . We promote environmental responsibility through stewardship of the unique ecosystems of the Cooloola Coast by all those whose actions affect them.
We base our actions on the best available evidence and scientific research. We place deep value on continuous learning and actively integrate First Nations traditional knowledge into our work.
We warmly welcome members from all backgrounds , actively working together to incorporate a wide breadth of diverse experience, perspectives and opinions.
We anticipate the impacts of a rapidly changing world. By proactively preparing our landscapes and communities, we build resilience against emerging threats and stay ready for new opportunities.
We build genuine partnerships with community groups, residents, visitors, government, and stakeholders. We place a special, dedicated focus on deepening our relationships with First Nations people.
