FAQs

How do I schedule an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, please reach out by either giving me a call, email, or submitting your contact information on the Contact Me page. Please allow 48 hours for response time. I offer free 20-minute phone consultations to those who would like to ask questions and test the waters to see if we would be a good fit.

Before your initial appointment, please take time to fill out and send back the intake paperwork that I will send to you over email.

Payment is handled either through check or card payment at the time of the session.

What do I need to know regarding fees for services?

*Please note that I do not currently accept insurance*

I am an Out-of-Network provider. I partner with Thrizer to submit superbills on clients' behalf to speed up the refund process, or I can provide clients with a "superbill" so they can submit the invoices to insurance for reimbursements. I recommend that you call your insurance to inquire about the level of reimbursement to anticipate. Please reach out with any questions. I would be happy to provide you with information that may assist you in getting the most accurate information during your call with insurance.

Payment is accepted by HSA (health savings account), credit or debit card, cash, or check.

My rate is $175 per 55-minute hour. Payment is due at the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made. Accessibility of care is important to me, so I reserve 20% of my client load for clients in need of a reduced rate. If this is you, please reach out to inquire about openings.

What is your cancellation and late policy?

I ask that you give a 24-hour notice for canceled appointments to avoid being charged for the missed session. Any notification is better than none.

What should I know before I go?

Please complete the intake forms and return them to me before your first session. Payment will be collected at the time of session.

Therapy sessions are 45 or 55 minutes long, with weekly or bi-weekly appointments being most effective. If your child is my client, I will likely request monthly or quarterly 30-minute Parental check-in appointments. The therapeutic process can vary widely in length, depending on your goals and other factors. It is best to keep open communication about how things are progressing and the best length for treatment.

During our first session, we will begin getting to know one another and developing our goals for therapy. I will explain how confidentiality works in therapy and the informed consent process. The first session is often more structured and interview style as I gain more insight into your personal context. My approach is collaborative, and I consider myself your equal partner in the change process. If something is not working, we can address it together and readjust.

Please know that you are welcome to ask me any questions about the therapy process during your session or while scheduling your appointment.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

By law, you may request and receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected service costs. This estimate will outline the anticipated costs of the services within your treatment plan. The estimate is based on information that is made known to the practitioner at the time that the estimate is created. It should be noted that unknown variables may arise during treatment that impact the course and cost of treatment.

This estimate is in no way a contract between practitioner and client. The treatment plan may be adjusted at any point based on the clinician's reassessment of need or by request of the client, and the client may discontinue or opt out of services at any time.

Custody/Legal Disputes?

I am not a Forensic Psychologist, Custody Evaluator, or Parenting Evaluator. I cannot testify on behalf of either parent with regard to their child or to either parent’s parenting style with my client, their child. Should you become involved in a divorce or custody case, please be informed that I will not provide evaluations or expert testimony in court. This is a specialization I do not provide.

If I am subpoenaed against my will, you will be charged for the resulting labor.
