For another year, Comsewogue High School and the students do Trick-or-Treat Street once more. Trick-or-Treat Street is an event held every year on the Friday before Halloween. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, every club had a room to decorate with a theme as kids travel through the 9th grade hallway. Since the pandemic, Trick-or-Treat Street has been taking place in the cafeteria.
The most interesting and exciting part of trick-or-treat street has to be Art Honors. They always put their all in their little booth, and this year according to the presidents, the Art Honors booth will be in the art hallway, recreating iconic scenes from Coraline.
“Everyone writes down their ideas.” Paige, the president of honors states “Then, we all pick what we like most, and then narrow it down to three and then we pick from those three.” Many other clubs do the same or some just agree on the theme.
Every year when the day comes, kids like it and enjoy it to the full, with some even making it a tradition to come until 8th grade. Many want to join a club and do Trick-Or-Treat Street as a highschooler. Overall it has a positive impact on the community and should continue to keep going every year.

In hopes of exploring what's next for them after high school, many seniors and juniors attend the college fair on Tuesday, October 10th, from 8-9 am, which has over 90 colleges. With high school ending soon, students' career interests start to peak. They can talk about the different paths they can take when they graduate. This helps students know what different schools offer in their interest and make decisions. Figuring out what to do after graduation becomes less stressful.
Each student has different interests and they have different plans for the future. Fernanda Camino states, “I plan to go to a four-year college and major in fine arts while staying on Long Island." This student is mostly interested in pursuing a career in art.
Another student, Krystal Cayamcela, states, “I want to go upstate to major in business." Eden Agoha states, “I want to study nursing because I think it's great to help people and be a part of the community."
Many different students have different responses to the question, “What are your plans after high school?” This shows that everyone has different interests and their future might differ from each other.
Senior students are starting to apply to college and the college fair can make it less stressful. It’s important to stay motivated and not feel discouraged.
Ms. Hirko, a guidance counselor, advises students to, “Keep working hard. Keep uncovering what your goals and your strengths are and keep working towards them."
