Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive, school-wide approach to promoting positive behavior and creating safe, supportive learning environments. The PBIS 3-Tier Continuum provides a framework to support all students based on their individual needs:
Tier 1 – Universal Support: School-wide strategies and expectations for behavior that are taught, modeled, and reinforced for all students to create a positive school climate.
Tier 2 – Targeted Support: Additional interventions and supports for some students who need more help developing appropriate behaviors and social skills.
Tier 3 – Intensive Support: Individualized, intensive interventions for a few students with significant behavioral or emotional needs.
This tiered system ensures every student receives the level of support they need to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
