All students will graduate from Compton High School as compassionate citizens who contribute to the betterment of society, are college and career-ready, empowered to compete and succeed in the increasingly demanding 21st century, and make positive contributions to society.
MISSION
Our mission is to prepare all students to become effective communicators, critical thinkers and self-directed adults. Our mission is to provide all students equitable access to a comprehensive school counseling program that uses data-driven practices to ensure every student will acquire the academic, career, and personal/social skills to reach their full potential and be productive contributing citizens.

At Compton High School, our counseling program is guided by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, which sets the highest standards for effective school counseling. This model ensures our program is comprehensive, data-driven, and designed to support the academic, career, and social-emotional development of every student.
The ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors standards help us focus on developing the whole student by promoting:
Academic Development: Helping students develop the skills and attitudes necessary for academic success.
Career Development: Guiding students in exploring career options and preparing for life beyond high school.
Social/Emotional Development: Supporting students’ emotional well-being, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
By aligning with these standards, our school counselors provide personalized support, group programs, and school-wide initiatives that empower students to achieve their fullest potential and confidently navigate their college and career pathways.
