A major is a specific subject area that students specialize in college. About one-third to half of the courses you’ll take in college will be in your major or related to it to your area of focus. Your college counselor will help you determine what classes will help you match you graduation goal.
Fun Fact: Can't decide on one major. Many students double major (add a second subject area) and/or a minor (a discipline with less classes). You don't just have to have one interest...the options are endless!!!

Whether you choose a major because you like the subject or it sounds interesting, just know that you always have the flexibility to pursue any career with the skills you have gain or already had. For example, English majors don't only have to be writers or teachers. Many actually pursue careers in public relations, law, business administrators, and marketing. Through there major, they were able to develop the necessary knowledge and skill to work in other areas where language arts and communication are key.
