Meeting the Mayor is quite an interesting experience: he explains why many cities or villages are called "Nea", which is a very common prefix here. So we discover that in 1923 Greece and Turkey signed the Losanna pact deciding on the forced transfer of Greek people from Turkey to Greece and of Turkish people from Greece to Turkey. When the refugees arrived, new cities were built: all of them have the prefix "Nea"
