We competed in a robotics scrimmage at Orchard Hill Elementary School in November earlier this season. It was a wonderful night for us to test out our robot and get a better feel for this year's game. We ended up finishing in the top half of the tournament, scoring better than any of our past scrimmages!
One of the things we really wanted to focus on this season was connecting with younger children and exposing them to STEM. To do this, we hosted a Trunk-or-Treat the week before Halloween where kids from the community could come and get some candy. We showed off our mini robot that picked up cups of candy and drove the cups to them!
Every year our school hosts a Halloween “design challenge” where every class is given the same set of instructions, limited materials, and an objective to complete. This year we crafted and ran the challenge, which had students focus on engineering a precision candy launcher.
This season, we've been working super hard to connect with our community and the different businesses in it. We've talked to tons of businesses in our area and have connected with so many amazing people. Some companies have even agreed to sponsor us, allowing us to keep building our robot and growing our team. All of the businesses on this page have been kind enough to sponsor our team. You can learn more about our sponsorship levels by visiting the "Donate!" page.
