There are usually 2 CPRs per class, so you can share your responsibilities and ask your parents to help you as you wish. You will meet up with your teacher at the beginning of the year to find out how you can help specifically with your class. The main responsibilities are:
Welcome new families, especially those who have missed the start of year welcome events.
Send emails to class when needed to remind parents of important dates or info (e.g., reminders ro bring passports for ski days) and to solicit volunteers (e.g., chaperones for field trips), without repeating information shared elsewhere.
Organize class social events (1-2 per year).
Attend the PTA Annual General Meetings and the Primary Parent PTA meetings (formerly known as Primary CPR Meetings).
Meet with teacher as needed.
Organize one class coffee with teacher and parents during the year.
Attend PTA meetings and events (especially welcome events) and encourage other parents to attend.
Encourage parents from your class group to get involved in the PTA by volunteering for events and committees.
Direct other parents to the appropriate person if they have queries or concerns (CAB, Class teacher, School Principal etc)
Please note that collecting money for teacher gifts is neither an expectation nor an obligation of CPRs!
Each Secondary year group has normally two CPR Coordinators and each mentor group normally has two CPRs to share the responsibilities. As a Secondary CPR, you will contact the class mentor at the start of the year to find out how you can help. The main responsibilities are:
Organise 1-2 coffees per year, in the School's premisses, with class mentor and parents to discuss topics of general interest and to get to know each other.
Manage occasional messages from the mentor to class parents. Year messages are handled by the CPR Coordinator for the year.
Attend the PTA Annual General Meetings and the Secondary Parent PTA meetings (formerly known as CPR Meetings).
Support and encourage parents to attend PTA social events (e.g. Welcome Coffees, Spring Festival, etc) and volunteer at the PTA’s two main campus-wide events: the Marché de Noel and the Kermesse.
Welcome new families that arrive during the year.
Direct other parents to the appropriate person if they have queries or concerns (CPR Coordinators, Secondary School Coordinators, Mentor, Head of Year, Assistant Principal or Principal).
If you would like to be a CPR, please email president.pta.cha@community.ecolint.ch and a member of the PTA will be in contact with you.
