Precision measurement systems are critical for accurately tracking position, navigation, and timing. These data are used in global positioning systems, precision timestamping of financial transactions between banks, inter- satellite communications, internet transmission, autonomous vehicles, and mapping and remote sensing of our lands and oceans. Currently, these systems are bulky and delicate, and many require stable links to satellites for timing, limiting their practical deployment in remote areas - read more here -
This year's workshop provides an opportunity to showcase the progress and momentum achieved across the Precision Sensing and Measurement theme and to shape its future direction. Building on the foundations established over the past year, the focus will shift from alignment and planning to demonstrating progress, identifying opportunities for impact, and shaping the next phase of the theme. We will review key research achievements and emerging capabilities, explore pathways for translating technical advances into real-world outcomes, identify future funding and partnership opportunities, and strengthen connections across COMBS themes. The workshop will provide a forum to showcase successes, generate new ideas and develop a shared vision for maximising the scientific, industry and societal impact of our research.
