Theme Overview
Existing ‘Astrocombs’ are complex, expensive, fragile, and can be unreliable. They also work mainly at infrared wavelengths while most of the important measurements are in the visible and even ultraviolet wavelength ranges. The realisation of microcombs in the form of integrated circuits could resolve these issues, creating robust optical systems specifically tailored to the wavelengths needed.
