Parsons Ave Clean-Up with Southside Thrive:

Following the 18 week Cadet Academy, Cadets will rotate working in different subdivisions and participate in community events while simultaneously maintaining a physical fitness regimen, and continued education until successfully passing Civil Service testing and gaining acceptance into the Columbus Police Academy.
18 years of age at time of application
High school diploma or GED
Possess a valid Driver's License
Community Service Hours
Public Safety Corps (PSC) is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are between 14 - 20 years of age.
The Columbus Division of Police PSC meet twice weekly:
Monday, 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Columbus Police Academy (1000 N. Hague Avenue)
Wednesday, 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Columbus Police Academy (1000 N. Hague Avenue)
Public Safety Corps members (15+) who join may
participate in the Division's PSC Ride-Along Program with Columbus Police Officers after a three-month probationary period.
During a ride-along, PSCs experience first hand what an officer's daily duties are like.
Members will see what happens on the street and can even assist officers with tasks such as paperwork, computer operations, and radio transmissions.
PSC members also have several opportunities to attend regional and national competitions and conferences.
