Calling all High School Students!
It is almost time for the third annual Columbus Journalists in Training opportunity for high school students! Participants will experience intensive interactive exercises while being coached by media professionals. Students will be paired with sets of at least two journalists from print, digital, and broadcast media. Teams will serve as mentors and help students complete a final project that may be published by Columbus City Schools and/or Dispatch.com.
There are 40 slots available for Columbus City Schools 9th-12th graders. Students will be selected based on interests in English, journalism, creative writing, podcasting, broad-casting and similar topics. Interested students should look for the flyer at school, or attached to this email. Apply HERE
The program will begin in January and applications will be accepted through November.

Did you know that all Columbus City Schools student IDs are also Columbus Metropolitan Library cards? It's true! You may want to remind your students of this as you work with them on their assignments.
This gives them full access to every CML feature. Super-valuable now. Although the physical library facilities are closed, all of their online resources are available to you and your students. And those resources are virtually endless. E-books, audio books, research tools, foreign language learning apps, and on and on and on!
Here are the first-time setup steps:
Go to: Columbus Metropolitan Library
Click: My Account
Log In: Library card number is student ID number; PIN is student birth year
Follow: The few next steps for creating a user name, etc.
It's that easy. Takes about 60 seconds. If anyone experiences difficulty with the process, they can call the library help line at 614.645.2275!
This a video highlights where students can find the BLC online catalog, INFOhio research resources and sign up for a CML eCard.
