Choice boards are graphic organizers that comprise of different amounts of squares. Each square is an activity. The activities help students learn or practice a primary concept, while allowing them a choice. Students can be instructed to choose one or more of these activities to complete. To use the samples or templates make a copy to your drive. This will allow you to edit the activities. Send to teachers and ask them to share with students. One way to use technology, to engage families and students at home, is to offer video read alouds. As the librarian, you can choose a read aloud book that connects to their learning and create a video of you reading the book.
Tips and Tricks
Record videos using Youtube live or a platform such as Screencastify. Send link to principals and teachers to share with your students.
Be sure to pause, point things out to the students, and ask questions.
Screencastify will allow you to record your screen. You can pull up digital books this way. You can still keep your picture on the screen by embedding the web cam as your record. However there is a 5 minute limit.
Youtube Live is also an option to record.
