Welcome, Cedarwood students and families! We are going to have an amazing year together, where students, staff, and parents work to build a great community that ensures students are life-long lovers of learning and adventure! Although we are beginning the school year with virtual schooling, we are making plans for additional experiences for students that include our Project Adventure values: Trust, Communication, Cooperation, Problem-Solving, Challenge and Risk. Our focus this year is on experiential learning and small group instruction, with a high emphasis on family engagement.
We, the staff of Cedarwood, are committed to providing each student with a quality education that is full of meaningful and enriching learning experiences. As we set standards for academic excellence and personal growth, the expectations are for all students to attend virtual learning sessions on time and model outstanding behavior. With your support, we can make our school community, whether virtual or in-person, a place of purpose where each student is valued and achieves their full potential.
If you are not already on our Cedarwood Alternative ClassDojo app, please consider downloading this app to your cell phone. This is one way we can get information sent quickly and directly to your cell phone, and you can message staff and administration through the app.
This a new year and we will do things differently! When we know better, we do better. The global pandemic has taken its toll on our students, families and staff alike. We will begin anew with a focus on strengthening our relationships with each other and establishing clear systems of consistent communication and assistance. The first few days and weeks will be busy and exciting, so please be patient as we work with you and your student to set up the procedures, platforms and processes that will help our classrooms run smoothly in the virtual environment.
Warm Regards,
Principal Leigh
