This is a Winter tournament with teams from Columba, John McGlashan, and St Andrew's College. The event rotates around the schools and comprises Senior A Debating, Senior A Badminton, Senior A Basketball, Senior B Netball, Senior A Netball, First XI Football, and First XI Hockey.

This is a Winter tournament with teams from Columba, Craighead Diocesan, Rangi Ruru, St Hilda’s, and St Margaret’s competing. The event rotates around the schools and comprises Senior A Badminton, Senior A Netball, First XI Football and First XI Hockey. As per tradition, there is intense competition between the teams with matches being played in good-hearted spirit; this is combined with high levels of historical rivalry with this being the 62nd year the exchange has taken place! The exchange is held over two days, drawing many spectators and side-line supporters.

There is always a lot of excitement and anticipation surrounding the annual Balmacewen exchange which sees the two participating schools go head to head in Netball, Hockey, Basketball and Chess. It is great to see everyone playing in the spirit of keen competition and friendly rivalry. Demonstrating a high level of competition and positive sportsmanship, this event is always a favourite in our school sports diary and we are already looking forward to the next one.
