Do's and Don'ts in the College Search:
DO be honest! This will help you get the results you want!
DO know that you Advisor has your best interest in mind. We will support you any way we can!
DO know who you are as an academic and social person and know your limitations.
DO identify what is MOST important to you and keep this in mind when doing your college search.
DO listen to your parents and family, but KNOW that the decision will always, ultimately, be yours to make.
DON'T undersell yourself in the application process. Stand up and SHINE!
DON'T follow your friends! This can lead to the slowest and most stressful way to NOT get the results you want!
DON'T be unrealistic! Numbers and facts do not lie.
DON'T choose a college for the wrong reasons - pick a school that has the best opportunities to learn and major in what you really want to do! Graduating with a skill set in your chosen field is more important that school name or reputation!
DON'T apply to schools that you cannot afford and that will put you in debt.
DON'T waste time and money applying to too many schools. Do your research and apply with purpose!
