This week was a slower week for us than anticipated. We had initially intended to meet with our mentor to get the ball rolling on our coding process. However, we have run into a challenge that we have not been getting a response from them so we have not been able to meet about the structure of our website. This has delayed our progress on this front as we had stated in our presentation, it is critical that we set up the website correctly otherwise we are going to have to spend a lot of time redoing it later. If we continue to have trouble reaching our mentor, our plan is to contact Anthony Pinter by the end of week 5 to see if he would be able to help.
We also created a GitHub Repo: https://github.com/ananyatandel/project-master
We were however, able to get feedback from our project management subject matter mentor about the documents and templates from our user testing round 1. Here are some of the highlights from the feedback we got:
Docs:
5 Groups:
Define a process group at the beginning - students may not know what this is - is it a group of people? do people have specific roles?
Define the role of a student Project Manager
Maybe define how this is different in an academic setting vs business.
Identify stakeholders:
Good so far - don't see anything missing. Maybe just work on some of the figures
Project management plan:
Can you make a figure/diagram that illustrates this: "This plan is designed to help create a defined path towards the execution, monitor and control and closing process. This plan will help guide you through the rest of the project so it’s important to set it up correctly."
That is a huge list - maybe first identify a baseline PMP for a student project - simplified. Then provide the full/extended list of included plans.
Templates:
Project management plan - are you going to have recommended or example text for each section? Or maybe bullet points for what should be included in each section?
Stakeholder organization chart - maybe explain why it is important to have it mapped out like this - what is the benefit? Maybe the explanation goes in the doc above and you link to it.
Team org chart - are you going to include a traditional org chart template for the team - similar to the stakeholder one?
This week we also created a new Figma prototype so that we could start implementing all of the feedback that we have gotten over the last 2 weeks. We have decided to create a whole new duplicate figma so that we can keep each user testing iteration for documentation purposes. Hopefully this will also help us remember what has changed between each round of user testing.
Here is the link to our Figma Prototype V2: https://www.figma.com/file/s2EUqdISgaxl7aAMkTlCfc/Project-Master-Prototype-V2.0?type=design&mode=design&t=6mq0t2wrWkU5fHXZ-1
Create new Figma implementing the feedback from UX Testing Round 1
We are going to be changing the dashboard to have different content and label the progress bars.
We are also changing the documents and tutorials page to include a search bar and a way to organize these different sections within the website
Edit our templates/documents and educational content based on mentor feedback (Barb)
Get hold of Peter Rosenthal and if he doesn't respond, reach out to Anthony Pinter.
After finishing the new Figma we are going to conduct user tests again. We want to interview two of the same people to see how they think the progress is and then we also want to test with at least 3-4 new people as well for new perspectives.
