A necessary vector for change is education and the Diversity Committee believes that regular and up-to-date training for all members of the Department of Mathematics is necessary to create and maintain a community and spaces where all individuals in the department, of any identity, can strive.
There are many offices on campus that provide trainings and presentations, for example with the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC) and the Center for Inclusion and Social Change (CISC). We regularly invite CU professionals to talk to our department and help us educate ourselves on issues that affect individuals from historically excluded groups in mathematics.
