Community 

The Diversity Committee strives to create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community in which all faculty, staff, and students are proud to be members. In order to do this, we sponsor various community building activities.

Inclusive Activity Nights

These are community building activities that are designed to be inclusive. A key feature is that, as opposed to the graduate student "Happy Hour",  alcohol is not allowed at inclusive activity nights.

Ropes Challenge Course 

Each Fall Semester

We are happy to announce that the math department will be continuing our fall tradition of completing the CU Boulder Challenge Course! If you are new to the department (new faculty, or first year grad students), this is a great way to get to know your colleagues. We have done this for the past few years and it is always a really enjoyable experience.

We would like to emphasize that the Challenge Course motto is “challenge by choice”. The facilitators of this program work to create an environment that is physically and emotionally safe and accessible. There is no pressure to participate in anything that pushes you outside of your comfort zone.
