Virtual Campus Tours - Journey to College
ACT - Register by applicable due date. Remember, some schools will accept an ACT score from the April or June test date for acceptance and scholarship consideration. Check with Mrs. Adrian to determine if you should retake the ACT. You may register online at ACT Registration
You will need the high school code 260995 to complete registration. By registering online you will have access to the most up-to-date list of test centers, receive immediate confirmation of test center assignment, print your admission ticket, and view your scores at no charge after you test. Students who receive free and reduced lunch can qualify for a fee waiver they just need to stop by the counseling office and ask me about the option.
Complete FAFSA - The FAFSA application is required for students to be considered for financial aid. You need to complete the FAFSA even if you think you will not qualify because colleges typically will not award their own need-based aid without a FAFSA report. The FAFSA form is free and it is used by most state agencies and colleges. The FAFSA form may be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov starting in October of your senior year.
Check Deadlines - Check with the Department of Residential Life and Services at the college or university you plan to attend. Many colleges require you pay the enrollment fee and housing contract in order to secure top choices of resident halls. In addition, most schools have begun sign up for new student orientation. The earlier your orientation/registration session is, the better the chance of getting your first choice of classes. Make sure you are aware of the deadlines at your college or university. You should check your university email accounts often!
Scholarships – Set aside some time each week to fill out scholarship applications. Visit the counseling web site, or stop by the counseling office for a complete list of scholarships.
