Dual Credit
Online Dual Credit Course Information and Guidelines:
Eugene High School has an opportunity to work with the State Fair Community College to expand our Dual Credit offering through online courses. If a student elects to take any of the online courses, they must by in good standing as a student and meet the required placement scores or prerequisites before registering for the classes. Students will be responsible for payment of courses, books, or other fees required by State Fair. Please refer to SFCC website here for more information: http://www.sfccmo.edu/dualcredit
Since online courses are new for students; we are aware they may have a difficult time in organizing and allowing themselves the necessary time required to be successful in an online class. Students will have access to lab time in the Library to access a computer and have an hour a day to work on online courses.
Counting Online Classes as High School Credit
The following courses, if offered through State Fair, are courses that students may elect to take for unweighted high school credit without it counting as a correspondence course. See the student handbook for a list of online class offerings.
Counting Online Classes as Correspondence Courses
The following courses, if offered through State Fair, are courses that students may elect to take for unweighted high school credit. These courses will count as a correspondence course. See the student handbook for a list of online class offerings.
Other Online Courses
Students are welcome to take other online courses or take more than the allowed correspondence courses. However, if students take anything out of the scope of the classes listed in the student handbook or go over the 2 credits of correspondents, the extra courses a student takes will not count as high school credit. Students may have the opportunity to set up dual credit courses outside of Eugene. If a student wants to have any of the following online SFCC classes, or other dual credit offerings at other institutions to be recognized for credit; the MUST have prior approval from the Eugene Counseling Department.
