ENVIROMENTAL ACTIVITIES

online LTTA in SICILY

20th - 24th September 2022

Due to the necessary measures to contain the pandemic, we were unable to carry out the LTTA in Sicily and we had to do it online. Despite the distance, we were able to work on the aspects that we had programmed in all areas of our project. With regard to raising awareness about environmental protection, the Italian team offered us a series of very interesting presentations, activities and workshops focused mainly on the 3R rules and also on reducing the use of plastics. We had the help of the Plastic Free Association to carry out some of these activities.

LTTA in BENETĂšSSER

24th - 29th February 2020

In our LTTA in BenetĂşsser we visited the Albufera National Park where we attended to an explanation of the importance of conserving natural areas to maintain the biodiversity of flora and fauna. We also took a boat trip around the lake and did a bird watching workshop at the Albufera Interpretation Centre.

Continuing with the work to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining biodiversity, in the Spanish school we held a workshop for the construction of bird and bat shelters using reused wood.

To end the week we created in a cooperative way, a poster on the endangered species of our countries.

YOUTH CONFERENCES ON "ECOLOGY AND NATURE PROTECTION"

A few months before the LTTA in Spain, on the occasion of the worldwide commemoration of Philosophy Day, our 2nd Baccalaureate students organized and held a series of youth conferences on the main objective of our project, the protection of nature and the crisis ecological, from a philosophical point of view.

LTTA in HOORN

15th - 21st September 2019

In Holland we went directly to the action: we helped to clean of plastics an Amsterdam canal

...planted a tree in the schoolyard...

...made a fashion show with clothes made of reused materials...

...visited a sustainable greenhouse and its geothermal plant...

...made some interesting workshops on biodiversity at the Wadden Sea, the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world.

We also received classes on environmental protection, one of them aboard a 19th-century wooden sailboat.

LTTA in HUMENNÉ

6th - 13th May 2019

In Slovakia we worked the water cycle through a very fun methodology that combined arts & crafts with recycled materials and a story telling activity in the library.

We also manufactured objects with recyclable materials.

In our visit to the different natural landscapes that surround Antalya, the students talked with local shopkeepers about the effect of tourism and the behavior of people towards the environment and nature.

Participants learned a lot about the source of the waterfall, how its water used, where the water falls into the sea, what is done to protect that natural treasure etc.

The use of renewable energies, much cleaner and more respectful with the environment, was the subject of discussion among the participants.

Students and teachers were able to observe the massive use of solar panels by the population of Antalya, and the host school in particular.
